Work begins in earnest towards Fiestas Camposol 2011 (28.08.10)

Following the huge success of our 2nd two day Fiesta in June this year, work has already commenced on next years event. As you would imagine, the workload on the Fiestas Camposol committee and it's army of volunteers is immense to put together the weekends festivities and some of our members have decided to take a well earned rest and retire from committee duties. All have said they wish to stay involved in any way they can but now feel the time is right to have a break and let some new members bring fresh blood and ideas to the committee! Five of the original founding members have stood down this year: Brian Jermyn - Colin Cain - Bruce Furness - Geoff Dore and Peter Rhodes.

I would like to stress my extreme thanks to these guys for all the effort, ideas and sheer bloody hard work that each of them has put in to not only help get the Camposol Fiesta off the ground but to ensure that it is the success that it is today! I draw great comfort from the fact that I know, should the occasion arise whereby any of their expertise is required for a given project or fund raising, each of them will be there to help. Thankyou, each and every one of you and just enjoy the rest!

As you know, three 'new' members joined our committee at the start of last year, Pete Western, Mark Stocks, Dick Davies and more recently Keith Donovan. I am delighted to say all have (in an utter moment of madness I'm sure) decided to re - enlist along with myself, for a further 'season'! We have been joined by three new members who we are all delighted to have on board. These are: Louise Bremner - Susie Long and Nigel Bowditch. I feel sure you join with us in wishing them every success and we look forward to working with each of them.

I have decided that I would like to take a slightly less 'up front' responsibility this year and have therefore asked for nominations from the committee members for a new Chairperson. I am delighted to inform you that following that process, Keith Donovan is now in the position of Chairman. Mark Stocks has taken on the vacant job of Secretary to run alongside his position as Press Officer. I have assumed the role of Treasurer which was previously held by Colin.
Work now begins in earnest towards the funding required for the 2011 Camposol Fiesta which we intend to make the biggest and best yet!
